Year 8: MIT Trip

The British International School Abu Dhabi is excited to be taking part in an upcoming STEAM Festival, a Nord Anglia Education (NAE) event where students will explore STEAM subjects using a leading-edge, university-inspired model of learning.

The STEAM Festival spans an entire week, providing unique learning opportunities specifically for our students at one of the world’s leading educational institutions, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with their Nord Anglia peers from all over the world and participate in exciting workshops and activities delivered by leading MIT academics and students, as well as touring the campuses of two of the best universities in the world (MIT and Harvard University).

The activities have been co-created by NAE and MIT to increase students’ understanding of STEAM, while developing their interdisciplinary learning and practical problem-solving skills.

This exciting opportunity will take place from April 28th to May 4th in Boston, USA.

Over 45 applicants were in contention for the four student places available to represent BIS Abu Dhabi. The calibre of entrants was extremely high, and staff were hugely impressed with all the students!

The successful students proved to be excelling across all STEAM subjects in the school, and they are: Younes, Hanlei, Kyeong-Min and JongRee. Congratulations to everyone involved and we look forward to the exciting trip ahead!

You will be able to keep up to date with the experience the students have while on the trip through a series of tweets (@BISAD_Science), through the weblog, and a video-log, all run by the students.
