On Thursday 22nd November, ten students from Years 7-12 travelled with Miss Rochell and Mr Anderson to Kuwait to take part in the BSME (British Schools Middle East) Music Festival.
This was a non-competitive event where students worked with other British schools from the Middle East (9 other schools took part), and culminated in a concert which included vocal groups, orchestra, rock bands, woodwind groups, brass groups and many more.
The weekend was full of rehearsals where our students worked really hard on their repertoire of Adiemus, Brave and Sound of Silence, and also developed their skills by learning harmonies and working well as an ensemble.
We managed to fit in a trip to the cinema to see ‘The Nutcracker’ film as well as joining the other BSME schools for a BBQ and karaoke evening. Then on Sunday 25th November, our students performed at The English School Kuwait in their concert hall.
It was a great experience to be a part of and hopefully something that the students will remember for a long time.
