Around the world with Year 6
Over the last couple of weeks, Year 6 students have been engaged in a creative, collaborative project, utilising and developing many of their skills across the curriculum. Each of the classes chose a continent, where a rainforest is located. Within each continent, groups chose different countries to complete in -depth research about.
The students took on many roles in order to find out about their country for example: researchers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, engineers, artists, historians and geographers. As a group, they decided how they were to present their findings culminating in an impressive showcase. Parents, family and friends were all invited, along with students from other classes.
Year 6 students presented in a confident and articulate manner clearly explaining their learning and engaging visitors with interactive activities. A range of subjects were displayed including quality writing relating to different genres, art work, statistics and diagrams.
What a fabulous morning was had by all! Well done Year 6
