The PE Department are pleased to announce that the Sports Days for the whole school will be held next week. Please see the calendar for your child's Athletics Gala information. More information regarding to the Secondary Sports Day which will be held on Wednesday 27th February is below.
Sports Day is a Secondary School House Event where all students will participate in three traditional events that they have been practicing within their PE lessons. During each event, students will be gain valuable House Points, which will be accumulated to find an overall House Winner.
The PE department is focused on making sure that students enjoy the day, offering Tug-of-War, Decathlon, Cross-fit, and House Rowing competitions to keep the students busy whilst waiting for their next event.
Sports Day will be an all-day competition that will be followed by a rewards assembly during period six.
Could you please make sure that your child arrives to school in their school PE kit that consists of the white or house polo PE shirt, and brings a snack as the canteen will be unavailable at break-time. Lunchtime arrangements are the same as a normal school day.
As temperatures are starting to rise, could you please make sure your child brings sun protection (hat/sun cream) and a water bottle. The PE Department will liaise with the school clinic to make sure any medical requirements are adhered to.
Parents and students are reminded that Sports Day is not an optional event and that attendance is compulsory. Students are expected to have at least a 96% attendance record for the school year. Any absences should be followed with a note from parents explaining the absence to their form teacher.
Parents are welcome to attend the event and we are really looking forward to sharing the experience with you all!
Thank you as ever for your ongoing support.
