Last Wednesday, Year 6 successfully kicked off the Primary Showcases of this academic year with their learning conference based around this term’s topic of Rainforests.
Feeling confident as experts in the subject, the students welcomed parents, teachers and peers into the classrooms to share their learning through a variety of workshops.
Visitors participated in a myriad of activities to give them a taste of Year 6, from creating animations in Keynote; programming devices to visit different rainforest areas; debating deforestation; simulating the water cycle and performing poetry.
Through the Leading Learning Conference, parents were able to have in-depth conversations with their children, find out more about the learning process and share reflections on their progress.
Opportunities to articulate knowledge and understanding is such an important part in a learning journey and personal development. It was fantastic to listen to, and watch, our incredible students engage in such a rich dialogue about learning and share the work they are proud of.
The students in Year 6 have worked tremendously hard this term; we are incredibly proud of them all and how they have developed as learners, aiming high and relishing each and every challenge.
