PTA Updates

We hope you have enjoyed a wonderful weekend and are all enjoying the class photo sessions this week. Looking ahead we have a couple of things to highlight in the coming weeks. Kindly see as follows:

ADNH Compass are requesting all cards be re-activated. Kindly visit them at main reception this week to ensure future usage. For more details please click here.

Thursday 7th February is our schools' International Day. With just over two weeks to go...thank you to those who have completed the survey. We can now say that out of 77 fantastic nationalities within BIS Abu Dhabi, the following nationalities have volunteers to man the stalls on the day (in no particular order):

Indonesia, Greece, Netherlands, Jordan, South Africa, Australia, Pakistan, Spain, USA, UAE, Thailand, India, UK, Turkey, Belgium, France and Malaysia.

If your country is not represented above, please consider volunteering your time on the day to share your Country's culture, history and food.

This event is focussed on the children of our school. The programme will be as follows:

8:15am Parade to celebrate our International FS students.

9:00am - 12:30pm Primary and Secondary students will visit BIS Taste of Abu Dhabi with their teachers. Visiting our parent stalls, children will get to experience cultural and social insight to each country and have a small taste of traditional foods.

12:30pm Parents are invited to see a selection of students perform, you can purchase your outdoor lunch with ADNH Compass, visit the countries stalls and learn more about the countries that share in our BIS Abu Dhabi community.

1:30pm International Parade begins. All Primary and Secondary children will participate in this parade. Come along and witness the wonderful multi-cultural representation of our community. Cheer your fellow countryman and neighbours in this beautiful exhibition of students in their national dress.
Please note: children will return to their classrooms at the end of this parade.

Kindly note this year: Primary Students will be collected from their classrooms. FS Students will be collected as normal at 2:30pm from their classrooms.

The International Day is as good as we, the School Community, make it. So join us in making this one, the best yet for our children. To register your interest please email: bisadpta@gmail.com.

Tuesday 12th February is our next PTA coffee morning. Held in The Hub from 8am. Second-hand Uniform and books will be available. Save the date and bring your coffee cup.

Finally, we would like to add a thank you we received from our PINKTOBER prize winner, one of our Year 3 Teachers.

Mr MacEoin wrote;
"I would like to say a special thanks to Dan Balmer and the PTA for organising the amazing raffle prize to drive an Aston Martin DB11. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I made sure to put some miles on it, driving from Abu Dhabi to Jebel Hafeet to Hatta Dam. An amazing experience. Thanks again! Colm."

Have a wonderful week ahead.

Kind regards,
BIS Abu Dhabi PTA
