Principal's Update: Healthy Learning

Now that the term is underway it is wonderful to see high quality learning in all areas of the school. Children have met their new classmates and teachers and are focussing on developing their knowledge and understanding in all subject areas.

One key aspect of successful learning is also having a healthy lifestyle. There is a very clear connection in that students who take part in activities and sports often reach greater success in their studies. The new facilities in the school, plus the expanded programme of co-curricular activities, means that there are more opportunities than ever for students to undertake a variety of activities in addition to their academic work.

The start of a new year is often a time for new aspirations and for taking on new challenges. We will be encouraging all students to fully commit to every aspect of school life in addition to their classwork, be it via co-curricular activities, sports fixtures, house events or perhaps service activities. I would be extremely grateful for the support of parents in ensuring their child plays a full role in school – we know this leads to even greater success in the years to come.

Finally, although it is rather early in the term, I would like to wish everyone a relaxing break next week during the Eid Al Adha holiday. The students should return on September 18th to continue with their learning and ready for the commencement of all their new activities.
