We have an amazing opportunity for our students in Years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 to complete their PADI Open Water Diver Qualification. This CCA will start in January 2019 and will be held every Monday from 2:45pm until 4:30pm in the small pool. We will be working with Al Mahara Dive Centre who have been established in Abu Dhabi for the past 8 years.
Below is further information regarding cost and what is involved.
Length of course:
We will spend 4 afternoons in the pool, 2 half days on the weekend for open water dives, plus 2 afternoons completing the online course.
There will be 1 certified PADI instructor per 4 children plus a PADI Certified Assistant and Angela Burns, Diving CCA Lead.
Before starting the course, all candidates must be medically fit to participate by completing a medical questionnaire. If any questions are answered YES, then a physician's consent is required prior to starting and the doctor must sign and stamp on page 2 of the form and returned to Angela Burns, Room 124.

Other pre-requisites (watermanship assessment)
- Must be able to swim continuously for 200m or 300m with a mask/fin snorkel
- Must be able to swim/float in water (too deep to stand in) for 10 minutes
- We recommend purchasing your waterproof watch, mask fins and snorkel set before the start of your course as a suitable mask and fins will make you more comfortable underwater.
