As we reach the half way point in our school year, the Secondary School paused this week to reflect on what has been achieved thus far. In our Key Stage Award Assemblies we looked back on the first half of the year, a few months which contained House Day, BIS Got Talent, Trips to London, Oman and Tanzania, BSME Games, Pink Day, National Day and a whole range of other fantastic events and opportunities for our students. We congratulated the many winners of our Subject Effort and Attainment Awards alongside winners of KenKen Maths challenge medals, Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver awards and Service and Leadership Awards.
Jasmine Pitman, Alya Al Ameri and Daniela Santos-Jankovic were awarded this terms Outstanding All Round Contribution Award, the highest honour a student can achieve in our school and since we have now instituted a rather splendid individual trophy to go along with this award, past winners of the award were invited to receive their trophies retrospectively.
Students waited with baited breath and noisy drum rolls as this terms House Competition Award winners were revealed. 17,960 House Points have been awarded thus far this year in the Secondary School but it is Ash House who have garnered the most with 4,885. Congratulations to Ash but the other houses are not far behind so there is no room for complacency!
