Mike Mitchell
"This is my second year as a Visual Art teacher at BIS Abu Dhabi. I am really looking forward to getting creative in the art room again this term and to our annual Abu Dhabi Art trip in November with the GCSE and IB students."

Kate Rochell
"I am going into my fifth year of teaching Music here at BIS Abu Dhabi and this year I will be the Director of Music for the school, a role which I am very passionate about. I am really looking forward to all the different performance opportunities we have for our pupils and seeing the children develop musically, both in the classroom and through our CCA programme throughout the year."

Mat Williams
"I have joined BIS Abu Dhabi from another Nord Anglia school; British Vietnamese International School – in Ho Chi Minh City. After four wonderful years in Vietnam, I am excited by the challenge of teaching drama and music in this school and leading the Creative Arts department. I am most looking forward to seeing our students excel on stage in brilliant and spectacular productions!"

Chris Anderson
"I am a new addition to the fabulous Creative Arts team having lead Performing Arts Faculties in the Greater Manchester area for around 10 years. My specialism is Music which is what I will be teaching though I will also be taking on a the Head of Year 8 role too, an exciting new professional challenge for me. The Creative Arts team are a hugely talented and fun bunch to work with and I am hugely excited to work with them over the coming years and especially to help contribute to Showcase events and the extra-curricular programme."

Marianne Hofman
"I teach foundation stage as well as Year 1 and 2. We’ve got an exciting term ahead, with lots of singing and playing instruments. We’ll be learning about low and high sounds, and also how loud and soft notes can change the feeling of a piece of music. Year 1 and 2 will be learning the basic skills of the keyboard and will also be having fun with ukulele’s this year! It’s going to be great!"

Laura Funnell
"I have recently joined the school after working in the UK. I am really pleased to be part of such an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Creative Arts Team and look forward to the inspiration all our future collaborations will bring. We have a well-resourced Visual Arts department, so sharing ideas and expertise within our new subject team to bring the very best, challenging and fun opportunities to engage our talented students whilst developing their practical skills, is also an exciting prospect. I am also the new Service Coordinator for the Secondary School, I am looking forward to building on the great relationships and initiatives already established and exploring new avenues for our students to be global minded and actively contribute to making a positive difference to the lives of others."
