On Monday 26th February, 24 Secondary students and 30 Primary students went to Al Raha International school to take part in Choirfest. The Choirfest is an annual singing competition held in the UAE and for the first time in Abu Dhabi, Secondary schools were invited to join. Each school had been working hard to prepare two songs and perform these to an audience. The competition started with a performance from The Idea of North who are an acapella group from Australia. This was an inspiring performance for the students and they really enjoyed their arrangements of the songs and the close harmony that the they were able to do.

We were then taken through a vocal warm up and then it was time to perform. Primary vocal performed 'Something Wild' as well as 'Best day of my life,' while Secondary vocal performed ‘Africa’ as well as ‘True Colours.’ They all did a great job. I was so proud of each and every one of the boys and girls that performed. Their projection and harmony was great and they were really enjoying themselves on the stage.

We had great feedback from the audience and the judges were very complimentary too stating our performance ‘had a really nice blend of voices’ and that students ‘really enjoyed themselves on stage’.

Well done to all who took part and thank you to parents for coming to support. Hopefully we can return for Choirfest 2019.
