Over the last two weeks students in Year 5 and 6 haven been planning, presenting and developing their own enterprise projects in a Dragon’s Den style competition to raise funds for Tanzania.
The first phase of the project was to plan a feasible (and profitable) business idea. The next step was to present it to Dragons from Year 8. The Dragons then selected the most viable business ideas from each class. The final round of the Dragon’s Den competition was held in the hall as all finalists pitched their fundraising ideas to the Dragons in the hope of running a stall during the Winter Fayre.
The winning teams from Year 5 and 6 were ‘Sweets ‘n’ Treats’ and ‘Silly Photos R Us’ respectively.
“Honestly, Sara and I were very glad to have the opportunity to take part in this project. We found it fun and challenging to compete against other groups and enjoyed putting our persuasive skills to the test. ” Matthew – Silly Photos R Us
“The Dragon’s Den experience was unique. We learned how to set up and run a business. We also experienced how much hard work and organisation is involved it bringing a product to the market. We had a blast and felt like professional businesswomen. ” Noora, Inaya, Maria, Sara, Avni and Georgianna – Sweets ‘n’ Treats
